Mirajane and Freed: Part Two

Previously…

Silence followed as the Fairy Tail mages gathered in one small apartment thought up ideas for the hook up of two of their guildmates.

Then a snap came from Piper, her eyes bright and triumphant. “I’ve got it!” she announced. “So what if we…”

 

And now…

“So what if we set up a surprise date for them down at the 8-Island restaurant in Hargeon? One time I went there, and their food is super awesome because it’s magic food, and that’s like my thing!” The young brunette bounced excitedly on her knees from her spot on the floor. “Can we do it? Please? It’ll be really fun for them! I promise!” She stared, eyes pleading, up at Lucy.

Lucy glanced between the pinkette next to her and the raven-haired ice mage seated on her bed. They smiled at each other as they remembered when they had worked as waiters at the 8-Island restaurant.

“Good times, right?” Gray smirked. “Erza sure got in to the role.” Natsu and Lucy chuckled at the remark. The blonde then directed her attention back to Piper, impatience written across the latter’s face.

“I think that sounds great,” Lucy said. “Does anyone else have another idea?” Receiving shrugs and shaking heads, the stellar spirit mage smiled at Piper. “Alright, it’s a go then. Thank you, Piper for the very nice suggestion.”

“You’re welcome!” she giggled with pride in her eyes.

Lucy gathered the group’s attention again. “Okay, so our next step will be to plan all of this, and if we plan on setting it up for tonight, we need to move quickly. I’ll try to do this fast,” she exhaled. She straightened her posture and began giving off orders.

“I’ll call Yagima-san and reserve a spot just incase. Gray and Juvia, Erza is getting back today, so please find her as soon as you can and make sure she is informed of this procedure.” The couple nodded their understanding.

She directed her attention to a pair of girls sitting on her coffee table. “Kenzie and Kat, can I trust you two to be in charge of leading Mira and Freed separately to the diner so they meet up at eight p.m. sharp?” The girls gave Lucy a thumbs-up and a simultaneous, “Yep!”

Turning to the three youngest mages of the group, she said, “You girls can really do whatever suits your fancy I guess.” Lucy smiled apologetically. “I don’t really know what you can do to help out. Unless, Lily, you think music for their date would do some good.”

Lily twisted a finger around her bright green hair, contemplating the suggestion. “I believe music to set the mood would be adequate,” she said slowly, “but I will only play if Mirajane and Freed are alone in the restaurant. I wouldn’t like to be a bother to other customers.” The music mage eyed her roommates, Crystal and Piper. “You two should go with Kenzie and Katana if it is okay with them,” she remarked.

The two glared at each other before they hurriedly jumped from the floor to grab a partner. Piper grasped Kenzie’s arm tightly as Crystal wrapped her arms around Kat’s shoulders, each staking their claim. Luckily, another heated argument between the chop wizard and food mage would not commence.

Lucy cleared her throat and gave a nod. “Great, then we’re all set. Team, let’s make Operation Freera a success!” Cheers erupted from the group of young teens and were joined by Happy who beamed with a cheeky grin.

“Now if you would, please leave,” Lucy said with a look that said she wasn’t kidding, and pointed a finger at the door. The noise dejectedly died down before the girls and the flying blue cat began filing back out the door.

“I’ll meet you back at the house later, little buddy!” Natsu promised just before Happy exited the room. Gray and Juvia waved their goodbye as they left to search for a certain scarlet-haired mage. They closed the door behind them and left Natsu and Lucy to themselves. Natsu faced the blonde and wrapped his strong arms around her waist, pulling her in for a kiss. Lucy giggled a little into the kiss as she barely tried pushing him away.

“You know you’re amazing, right Luce?” the dragon slayer whispered as a smirk crossed his lips. Lucy pulled away just enough to meet his gaze. “Well now I do,” she quietly replied, sweetly smiling back. “Alright, I have to go call Yagima-san.” Lucy loosened his hold on her and slipped her hand in his.

“Fine,” Natsu huffed. “Whatever you say, Captain.”

With a small laugh, Lucy reached up to tussle the pinkette’s hair. “Don’t sound so disappointed. It won’t take too long. Be patient, and then I’m all yours,” she said, already grabbing her cell from a purse on the table. Natsu brightened as the celestial spirit mage dragged him along searching now for a phonebook to find the 8-Island restaurant’s contact information, preparing to make a reservation for two of their guildmates’ secret date.
